Day-old chicks, like many other newborn animals, have limited ability to regulate their body temperature because they are unable to generate enough internal heat to maintain a stable body temperature. Just like human babies, external heat sources like warm clothing or incubators are used to maintain a comfortable body temperature. In chicks KROMS GAS BROODERS or traditional charcoal stoves are used to maintain the recommended temperature essential for the health, growth, and well-being of the chicks. The recommended temperature in a brooder typically varies depending on the age of the chicks, and it is crucial to adjust the temperature gradually as they grow. Here is a general guideline for recommended brooder temperatures for chicks: First Week (0-7 Days): The initial temperature for newly hatched chicks should be around (35°C). Chicks at this age are unable to regulate their body temperature effectively and require a warm environment to stay comfortable. Second Week (8-14 Days): Gradually decrease the temperature by about (2-3°C) each week. By the end of the second week, the brooder temperature can be reduced to around (32°C). Third Week (15-21 Days): Continue to decrease the temperature by about (2-3°C) per week. By the end of the third week, the brooder temperature can be set to approximately (29°C). Fourth Week (22-28 Days): Chicks are becoming more feathered and better equipped to handle lower temperatures. The brooder temperature can be further reduced to around (27°C) by the end of the fourth week. By the time chicks are about four to six weeks old, they should be fully feathered and acclimated to room temperature.
