KILL AFRICAN SWINE FEVER VIRUS OTHER DISEASE CAUSING AGENTS IN FEEDS
Christopher Mulindwa - 7th.04.2023
Sanitising your pig feeds is like putting on a condom before sex with a partner whose health status you are not certain even though they looked health.
Pig feeds can be contaminated with African Swine Fever causing virus from :-
1. Farm,
After harvest, maize and other feed stuffs are dried in the compound. Majority of maize producers own either tethered or free range pigs. These walk over the maize or even litter in it shedding the virus incase infected.
2. Delivery,
Sometimes a truck that transported infected pigs to the abattoir last night will be hired to transport feeds to the miller or farm next morning. The laborers loading and offloading the feed may have visited a pork joint, abattoir or even own farms with infected feeds.
3. Miller,
Many people are involved during the milling process. Incase one of them interacted with either contaminated remains or infected pigs, they will contaminate the feeds.
4. Feed trader,
Majority of our feed traders lack basic bio-security skills. Some even consume pork at their places of work, others own pigs and some operate pork joints. Therefore contamination is possible at this point too.
FORMYCINE kills effectively the African Swine Fever Virus (ASFv) present in feed. It also kills other pathogens alongside binding toxins to reduce amount of mycotoxins ingested by your pigs.
You need two (2kg) per 1000kg of complete feed for material sourced from untrusted sources. You need one (1kg) for feeds sourced from trusted sources.
Note:-
Formycine only kills the virus in feeds therefore farmers must respect other bio-security protocols for the safety of their farms.
A bag of Formycine, 25 kilograms costs 310,000/- (Three hundred twenty thousand Uganda shillings) and a kilogram 15,000/- (Fifteen thousand Uganda shillings).
The product can be accessed from both Uganda and Kenya. Please call:
