PRODUCT OF THE WEEK Calcium and Phosphorous are very essential minerals in Poultry, Cattle (Ruminants), and Piggery Diets for; ✍️Proper formation of bones in chicks, Calves or piglets. ✍️Hard egg shell formation. ✍️Quality milk for lactating animals. Deficiency of these cause; 1. Lameness 2. Stiff legs 3. Ruffled feathers 4. A reduction in growth 5. Leg bones appear rubbery 6. Joints become enlarged 7. Paralysis followed by death 8. Calcium based Cannibalism Also excess Calcium in feed, leads to sole deficiency of Phosphorous in Diet. Please note that Phosphorous is very limited in Plant material, a requisition to supplement it by using DCP.
